I enjoyed this. We are new residents to the Berkshires, so now I'm going to be skeptical of everything we see here. 'Real life or a Crewdson construction' is probably going to become a game we play now...

I saw the post on Instagram and thought that building looks familiar…

Turns out I stayed across the street in 2019 and photographed the building then. This was pre-lettering, of course, but it did have a few doors and furniture inside. Wonderful that you both saw the spirit in the neglected storefront—that faded blue is too hard to ignore!

I am awestruck by your images and its so interesting seeing your production. The thing that strikes me is the lighting, and I understand, I think that the production takes all week in finding the right locations, and subjects and then the shooting in a moment at the end of the day where you can control the light. I am a self taught photographer that came to photography late in life. I shoot usually myself and then composite into stories. You are really much more than I could ever do. But I do enjoy the thrill of story telling. However, my stories mostly have been about my own experiences but feel that I need to tell universal stories and are in a funk about getting started. I don't know what my problem is, I guess I feel that Im not easily creating universal story images like I could from my own experiences. I am wondering if you could give me some ideas that you connect with the universal emotions of which you talk in your videos - fear, anxiety, desires etc. How do you fully connect in order to clearly have an idea of what image you want to shoot? Thanks you in advance. Lorrettaclarke@outlook.com
